Tampa, FL TRAFFIC SWITCH STARTING AT BRIDGE STREET
Motorists traveling Eastbound Gandy Boulevard near Bridge Street will be driving on a new temporary road surface Friday, March 16, 2018 at 9 pm, as construction pushes ahead for the Selmon Extension project. The traffic switch will remain in place through the spring to allow contractors to complete the phased roadway construction along the west end of Gandy Boulevard.
One lane on both Eastbound and Westbound Gandy Boulevard between Westshore Boulevard and the Gandy Bridge continue to be closed through Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 9 pm to 6 am to allow crews to complete roadway widening activities in the area.
In addition there may be intermittent night time lane closures throughout the project limits to conduct utility relocation work, excavation work and roadway restriping along Gandy Boulevard during this time-frame. Through travel lanes will remain open during day time hours.
Please be reminded that both the Gandy Park South on the south side of Gandy Boulevard and the Al Palonis Park on the north side of Gandy Boulevard are closed for the duration of the Selmon Extension construction. The Gandy Boat ramp will remain open. Thank you for your patience and understanding during our Gandy Boulevard improvements.
In an effort to keep the construction crews, and the traveling public safe, we want to remind motorists that the posted construction speed limit is 45 miles an hour. Enforced speed enforcement will be in place in the signed construction zones. The fine for speeding in a construction zone is double the amount of a regular ticket.
