DETOUR SCHEDULED AT WESTSHORE/GANDY BOULEVARD INTERSECTION FOR BRIDGE SEGMENT OPERATION
Beginning Saturday, November 2, 2019, Selmon Extension construction crews will temporarily close the intersection at Westshore and Gandy Boulevard between 9 pm – 6 am to place bridge segments.
Drivers going north or south on Westshore must take a right-turn onto Gandy Boulevard. Once on Gandy Boulevard, drivers can take the nearest U-Turn opportunity. The intersection will be open to east/west traffic, but not north/south traffic.
Detour signs will be posted to alert drivers. This operation will take roughly three weeks to complete. We appreciate your patience during this construction activity as the safety of the traveling public and the construction crews are our top priority.
Please remember the posted construction speed limit is 45 miles per hour. Speed enforcement will be in place in the signed construction zones. The fine for speeding in a construction zone is double the amount of a regular ticket.
