According to AAA, despite the pandemic drivers are expected to hit the road over this Labor Day weekend. AAA says it is seeing an increase in people planning to travel by car, as opposed to by plane or other modes of transportation. For your safety and the safety of the traveling public, here are a few safety tips:
- Devote your full attention to driving – it is illegal to text and drive.
- Don’t drive drowsy.
- Buckle Up!
- Move over – State law requires vehicles to move over when approaching an emergency vehicle or tow truck using visual signals. If you are unable to move over, slow down.
- Obey posted speed limits.
- Do not tailgate – keep a safe following distance.
While traveling, it is also important to take extra precautions to reduce risks associated with the coronavirus. We encourage you to stay current on advice from the CDC and Hillsborough County and follow the recommended guidelines to keep yourself and others safe.
